Equilateral 8 Build Kit, 2020

Equilateral 8 is formed from Eight identically shaped pieces with an equilateral triangle as the interior shape, hence the name. The light shades polyhedral nature makes it strong and resilient, but the use of card mountboard means it’s incredibly light in contrast to its relative visual weight.

The light is cut from just one A1 sheet of mountboard, therefore is extremely cost-effective and very sustainable.

It’s simplicity also lends itself to larger production runs in the future, as well as being user self-assembly. The pieces could be sent flat-packed and unassembled to the consumer in a build kit, greatly reducing the environmental costs to transport.
