Somnum Alarm, 2021
This alarm clock concept means to provide an effective way of telling time for all people. People with learning disabilities, dyscalculia, dementia, poor eyesight, and children can struggle with understanding and telling the time with both analogue and digital clocks.
The Somnum Alarm Clock solves this problem by visually representing time passing through the change in an egg-shaped form. You simply slide up the top half to set the amount of time required. During the night the shape will return to its original form setting of the alarm.
This means a quick glance throughout the night will indicate the amount of sleep time left. This visual aid is paired with a soft inbuilt nightlight (nudge to activate), so no need for bright phone screens or small clockfaces.
